Who are those men that stand so tall?
The're lined against that grey brick wall.
They look so stiff so unusually stern,
Is it a line-up they have learned?
Who are those men in uniforms so neat?
They're wearing shiney shoes upon their feet.
Who taught them to look so neatly pressed?
Shoulders back, looking their best.
Who are those men with guns in arm?
They walk about, listening for alarms.
They do not smile, they go about their work,
Rather it be walking, or laying in the dirt.
Who are these men, that protect us everyday?
They risks their lives with very little pay.
They ask for nothing in return,
Just doing their job, as they have learned.
They leave their families all alone,
Hoping soon, to someday return home.
So many leaving...going on that bus,
Many dying, protecting all of us.
The're young boys leaving girlfriends behind,
Husbands with young children..many under nine.
Sons...leaving mom and dad in distress,
Brothers...leaving all families upset.
They do this with the knowledge of heart,
Protecting there country, risking lives from the start.
Memorial Day is a day to thank all these men,
For allowing you the pleasures that your life has been.
Remember in prayer, to thank their families too,
They have offered up so much, in our countries name too.
When they salute that flag and the gun shots ring...
Freedom.........is what our servicemen bring.
May you all be blessed on this day..and may you
all return safelly to your families.
