Baseball defeats UCSB Sunday, Host Pacific this weekendGOLETA, CA --(4/14/97) The Cal Poly Baseball team (27-13, 7-11), avoided a three-game sweep at the hands of UCSB this past weekend, by defeating the Gauchos 15-10 on Sunday. Taber Maier had four RBI's and a homerun while Ryan Brennan had two hits, including a lead-off homerun in the first inning. Jason Novi, making his first start of the season, got the win after pitching five strong innings. Cal Poly will return home to host Pacific this weekend at Sinsheimer Park beginning on Friday at 3:00 pm. Game times Saturday and Sunday are 1:00 pm. Meet Cal Poly's new Football Coach Larry Welsh |
